Website Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 16, 2026

Big Sherbert LLC, based in Minnesota, United States, operates bigsherbert.com. This policy explains how we handle information when you browse the website, contact us, or use the visitor map. Questions or requests can be sent to ContactUs@BigSherbert.com.

NicNope has its own privacy policy

This website policy is separate from the NicNope Privacy Policy at https://bigsherbert.com/nicnope-privacy-policy. Visiting this website does not give us access to the quit profile stored in your NicNope app.

Contact forms and email

When you contact us, we receive the name, email address, message, and other information you choose to send. Website form submissions also record technical details such as the submission time, IP address, and browser and device information. Form entries are stored in our website system and delivered to us by email. Emails may also contain headers and attachments you provide.

We use correspondence to respond, provide support, investigate problems, and maintain relevant support records. Sending a message does not subscribe you to marketing emails. Please leave private health details, passwords, payment information, and other sensitive information out of ordinary support messages.

Visitor map

Adding a pin is optional. We collect the nickname, short message, and map area you select, together with submission and moderation records. The map rounds the selected coordinates to an approximate location. It does not ask for your device location or an email address. Choose a general area and a nickname rather than your home address or full name.

Pins are reviewed before they become public. If approved, your nickname, message, selected area, and approximate pin position are visible to other visitors and may be copied by them. Submissions are also included in private moderation emails. Please do not submit health details or personal information about another person.

The map uses temporary verification records and an identifier derived from a network address to limit spam and duplicate submissions. The map’s abuse controls do not store a raw IP address in the pin record. Website hosting and security logs may separately record IP addresses.

Visit counter and browser storage

Our counter records approximate website visits, not unique people. It uses a temporary random request identifier and short-lived server records to limit duplicate or automated counts. It does not build an advertising profile.

The visitor map uses browser session storage for a temporary receipt that lets your tab display the status of a pin you submitted; the receipt is valid for up to seven days. Session storage normally ends when the tab or browser session closes, although browser session restoration can preserve it. Clearing browser data removes these local records but does not delete an already submitted pin. The visit counter does not use cookies or browser storage.

WordPress may also use cookies when an authorized administrator signs in. We do not use advertising cookies or install tools to follow visitors across unrelated websites. The map’s temporary receipt supports the pin-status feature you request when submitting a pin.

Website operation and service providers

Our hosting, security, maintenance, and email services may process technical request records, messages, and other information needed to operate the website and deliver communications. Technical records can include IP addresses, request times, requested pages, and browser information. Access is limited to people and providers with a business need to handle the information.

We do not sell personal information or share it for targeted advertising. We may disclose information when legally required or reasonably necessary to address fraud, protect security, or protect legal rights. Approved visitor pins are public as described above.

Retention and removal

We keep correspondence and related records for as long as reasonably needed to handle the request, maintain relevant support records, resolve disputes, or meet legal obligations. We keep approved pins while they remain part of the map. Pending, rejected, and removed pins may remain in nonpublic moderation records until deleted; removing a pin from public view does not itself erase every stored copy.

Temporary browser receipts and abuse controls have shorter validity periods than the underlying records. A seven-day receipt expiration does not mean the pin or its moderation email is deleted after seven days. Hosting logs, email copies, and backups follow their own retention settings and applicable legal requirements.

Email ContactUs@BigSherbert.com to request access, correction, or deletion of information you provided. For a pin, identify the nickname, approximate area, and message so we can locate it. We may ask for limited information to verify your request. Available rights and any lawful exceptions depend on the laws that apply. We cannot remove copies other people independently made of a public pin.

Children and security

This website is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. Children under 13 should not submit personal information through the forms or visitor map. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

We use safeguards intended to restrict access and protect information, but no website, device, or email system can be guaranteed completely secure.

External services and privacy signals

Links may take you to services such as Google Play or other websites, which have their own privacy practices. We do not use the website to track your activity across unrelated services. Our current website does not change its operation in response to a browser Do Not Track signal. This does not limit any privacy rights or opt-out signals we must honor under applicable law.

Changes and contact

We will post changes to this policy on this page and update its effective date. For material changes, we will also place a prominent notice on the website and obtain additional consent where required before applying new practices.
