NicNope — Quit Nicotine

NicNope Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 8, 2026
NicNope is provided by Big Sherbert LLC in Minnesota, United States. For privacy questions or requests, contact us about privacy.

Privacy update: This policy now explains purchase verification on our Google Cloud service, purchase-record deletion requests, and optional sharing and diagnostics. Your quit profile remains on your device.

Your quit profile stays on your device

NicNope does not require an account. Your quit profile is stored in the app’s private storage on your device. It can include your optional name, nicotine products and usage estimates, costs, quit dates, nicotine-use entries, pauses and restarts, Messages to Myself, preferences (including optional country and region selections for Quit Support), and game progress.

In versions that support resuming setup, unfinished onboarding entries are also saved privately on your device so you can continue later. Completing setup or erasing app data removes the separate setup draft.

Quit Support uses the country and region you choose manually. It does not look up your location using GPS, your IP address or your app-store account. You can change or clear these choices in the app.

The app uses this information to show your progress and estimates, personalize your experience, and provide the features you choose. NicNope does not upload your quit profile to Big Sherbert LLC or operate a cloud-sync service.

Advertising and automatic reporting

This version contains no advertising, analytics SDK, or automatic crash-reporting SDK. The app does not sell your quit information or send it to advertising partners. Google Play, Android, and services you use separately may process information under their own policies.

Notifications and device features

If you enable reminders, the app schedules local notifications. Android may ask for notification permission, and you can turn notifications off in the app or in Android settings. Vibration is optional. The app does not request access to your contacts, location, microphone, or personal photo library for these features.

Feedback is your choice

The feedback screen opens a draft in your own email app. Nothing is sent until you choose to send it there. NicNope does not automatically attach your quit profile, nicotine-use log, Messages to Myself, screenshots, or other files.

An unchecked option adds the app version, build reference, device model, operating-system version, last reminder error, and purchase check IDs and error codes, when available. Preview these details before sharing; you can edit or remove them in your email app. This option includes no purchase token, receipt, card details, quit history, or unique device identifier.

If you email us, we receive your email address, the message and email headers, and any information or attachments you choose to provide. Big Sherbert LLC and the providers that deliver and host email handle that correspondence. We use it to respond, investigate problems, and improve the app. Please share only what you are comfortable sending by email; private health details are not needed for ordinary feedback.

If you contact us through our website form, we receive your name, email address, and message. The form also records submission details such as the time, IP address, and browser and device information. Entries are stored on our website and sent to us by email. Big Sherbert LLC and our website hosting and email providers handle this information so we can respond to and manage your request.

Sharing and store reviews

Share NicNope opens your device’s sharing screen with a public app description and link. It does not attach your quit profile, nicotine-use log, Messages to Myself, or screenshots. You choose the receiving app and whether to send anything. The receiving service handles what you choose to share under its own policies.

Share my quit builds an editable message on your device. It starts with your current quit progress. Estimated savings, products avoided, and the app link are optional and start unchecked. Names, exact quit dates, personal notes, individual nicotine-use entries, and screenshots are not attached automatically. If you choose products avoided, your own custom product names may appear in the preview.

Copy text places only the preview text on the system clipboard. Share passes that text to the device sharing screen; you choose a receiving app and whether to send or post it there. NicNope does not read your contacts or send the message itself, and it does not upload the draft to Big Sherbert LLC. The receiving app handles the text under its own policies. Closing the preview discards the draft inside NicNope; it does not clear a copy you made to the system clipboard or a draft in another app. The dashboard shortcut can be hidden or restored in Appearance & comfort.

The Review button opens the store listing. Store ratings and reviews are handled by the store and may be public; feedback during testing may be private to the developer. NicNope does not send your quit profile with a review request or receive your rating from the review dialog.

Purchases and verification

Google Play handles checkout and card details. To confirm or restore a Supporter Pack purchase, NicNope sends the purchase token, Google-signed receipt, product ID, and a random purchase check ID over HTTPS to Big Sherbert LLC’s verification service on Google Cloud. The receipt can contain an order ID, purchase time, and purchase status. Existing purchases may be checked when the app opens, when it resumes, or when you choose Restore purchases. Your quit profile, nicotine-use log, and personal notes are not sent.

The service checks current purchase status with Google Play and receives purchase-change notifications from Google. It stores a hashed purchase reference, product and entitlement, purchase and acknowledgement status, revocation status, test-purchase flag, and verification times in Google Cloud Firestore. Technical logs contain check IDs, result codes, and timing; infrastructure logs may also contain IP addresses and request information. Failed notification reviews retain a hashed notification reference, status, code, and times.

We use these records to deliver purchases, restore access, process refunds and revocations, prevent abuse, and investigate failures. Our application does not deliberately save raw purchase tokens or signed receipts in its database or logs. They are processed in memory; Google’s notification delivery system also handles and temporarily retains notification messages. Google Play and Google Cloud process billing information as service providers or under their own applicable terms. Older internal purchase tests also use Google Play Integrity tokens and app/device integrity verdicts.

Purchase records currently have no automatic expiry. We retain them to support the purchased entitlement, refunds, abuse prevention, and legal obligations. Technical logs and notification messages follow the configured Google Cloud retention periods. Erase all app data removes the local purchase cache, not our server records or Google’s transaction records. Restoring a purchase can recreate the local unlock. To request deletion of our purchase records, contact ContactUs@BigSherbert.com with the purchase check ID or order reference; do not send card details or a raw purchase token. We may verify ownership and explain any records we must retain.

Manual backups

Where available, Backup & restore lets you save your completed quit profile, nicotine-use history, messages, game progress, and preferences to a file you choose. Files are not encrypted by NicNope. The app does not upload them to Big Sherbert LLC. If you choose a cloud drive or share a backup yourself, that provider handles the file under its own policies. Keep backup files private.

Restoring replaces local app data with the backup. Reminder preferences are included, but reminders remain off until you enable them on that device. A temporary local recovery record protects against an interrupted restore and is removed after normal recovery. If you explicitly choose Recover saved profile or Recover backup profile, original recovery files are preserved privately on the device until Erase all app data or Android clears the app storage.

Retention and deletion

Local app information is kept on your device. Versions with extended log history retain up to 100,000 nicotine-use entries. Existing entries are not automatically removed; at the limit, you must delete entries yourself before adding more. Every retained entry is available in history and backups, even when only one page is displayed. Savings and products avoided deduct use during active quit periods; entries recorded while paused remain in history without reducing earlier progress. Earlier versions retain up to 5,000 entries and remove the oldest when that limit is exceeded. Updating cannot recover entries already removed by an earlier version. The app keeps a local recovery copy of the quit profile to help protect against an interrupted save. Automatic Android cloud backup is disabled for this app; this is separate from a manual backup you choose to save. Device-to-device transfers may still copy app data, depending on the device manufacturer and Android version.

Use Settings > Data & resets > Erase all app data to remove the quit profile, its local recovery copies, unfinished setup drafts, saved game progress, and appearance and language preferences. Clearing NicNope’s storage in Android settings also removes its local app data. NicNope has no account to delete.

Exported backup files are separate copies. Erasing app data or uninstalling NicNope does not delete them. Delete backups from the locations or services where you saved or shared them.

Emails and contact form submissions, screenshots you take, or copies you make separately are not removed by an in-app reset. We retain support correspondence for as long as reasonably needed to respond, investigate issues, maintain support records, or meet legal obligations. You may request deletion of correspondence through our privacy contact form. We may need to verify the request and retain information where legally required.

Security and external services

Local records rely on your device’s access controls. NicNope does not provide a separate app lock or its own encrypted profile format. Protect your device and consider who can access it. No storage or communication method can be guaranteed completely secure.

Links to information sources and quit programs open in your browser. Quit Support phone buttons open your phone app so you can choose whether to place a call. NicNope does not send your quit profile to these programs. Any information you provide directly to a program is handled by that program.

Those websites and programs, your phone and email providers, your chosen file-storage providers, Google Play, and Android may process information under their own privacy policies. This policy describes NicNope, our purchase verification, and our handling of support correspondence; it does not govern those separate services.

Changes and contact

We will update this policy if the app’s practices change, including before adding advertising or new data collection. The effective date identifies this version of the policy.
